Ferrari 458 Italia (summer 2010)
With a 0-62mph time of less than 3.4 seconds and a top speed in excess of 202mph the new 458 Italia is certainly one of the fastest cars Ferrari has built. Using its extensive knowledge gained in motorsport, the carmaker has designed the newcomer as the ultimate sports car. It’s powered by a new 4.5-litre V8 engine (hence the model name) which boasts an incredible 578bhp. It also features an advanced F1-style, seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox to help maximise performance while still offering smooth shifts. The svelte lines of the exterior are reflected in the luxury cabin which is said to feature a much sleeker and more modern look than previous models. Innovations include the removal of the wiper and indicator stalks in favour of buttons mounted on the steering wheel.
